Dr. Kelly Brawner

Raised on a professional Quarter Horse farm in central Alabama, Dr. Brawner developed her interest in veterinary medicine literally on the farm! She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Auburn University.  She then attended veterinary school at St. Matthew’s University. She completed her clinical year rotations at Oklahoma State University.

After practicing in general practice for a couple of years, she was excited for the unique opportunity to practice emergency medicine at a busy, multi-specialty referral center. She enjoyed the opportunity to follow complex cases and learn from the specialists. Her professional interests include internal medicine, radiology, ultrasonography and critical care.  Her passion to be part of a client-centered general practice that provides comprehensive care for the pets in the community has finally been realized with the purchase of 30A Vet, placing her regionally right in the middle of her family members’ homes.

She enjoys spending her free time with her husband, also named Kelly! They spend their free time with the daughter Kameron, exploring the local beaches and enjoying all the outdoor activities. Dr. Brawner is pictured above with their French Bulldog, “Eleanor,” the new mascot for 30A Vet!

Dr. Mario Obstbaum

Dr. Mario Obstbaum is an associate vet at 30a Vet.

Dr. Mario Obstbaum studied with his wife, Dr. Dana Harman at the University of Florida.  Together, they owned a practice in Boca Raton, Florida, until they sold it in 2014. The last several years of the practice, Dr. Obstbaum took his passion for dentistry to a higher level, taking extensive continuing education classes, wet labs and seminars under one of the top veterinary dental specialists in the world, Dr. Brett Beckman, with Atlanta Veterinary Dentistry Specialist.  His passion for dentistry works seamlessly with our goal of excellent dental prophylaxis and care.

Dr. Obstbaum grew up in Montevideo, Uruguay.  As a young child he saw a dog walking across the street that was limping.  He told his Mother, “there should be a doctor that could take care of that.”  His mother replied, “there are, they are called veterinarians.”

That moment set the stage for the career path he would follow.  Dr. “O” graduated with honors from the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987.  While in school he met his wife, Dr. Dana Harman, and together they owned Companion Animal Hospital in Boca Raton Florida for twenty three years.

Fourteen years ago they took a trip to the beaches of south Walton, looking for fantastic sunsets and the perfect beach for their two golden retrievers.   They purchased a home in Seagrove and after the sale of their animal hospital decided to follow their dreams and live here year round.

While practicing in Boca Raton, Dr. O took a special interest in small animal dentistry.  In 2009 he began taking courses with board certified veterinary dentists so he could better care for the needs of his patients. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry.  He enjoys making his patients feel better and explaining to their owners the importance of pet oral health.
